January 21, 2019Salesforce – How to Prevent Auto-Reply for an Email to case in Salesforce ?
January 21, 2019Problem Description:
Salesforce Customers/Users face problems when using case objects with partner community login licenses and Salesforce platform licenses, as there is no access to case objects in partner community login licenses and Salesforce platform licenses.
Challenges to User/Developer:
A workaround for this is to create a permission set which grants access to the case object.
Solution :
Salesforce Platform License Users Can Access Case Object
Approach:
Create a permission set with the Company community for force.com license and grant read/write access to case object.
Technical Solution :
To create the permission set:
· Setup->permission sets->new.
Fill in the label, description and use the “Company community for force.com” license.
· Click on the Created permission set -> Object settings -> Cases -> Grant the required permissions and click save.
· To assign this permission set to a user, Go to the user detail page -> click on “edit assignments” under the permission set assignments section.
· Select the Created permission set and save.
Advantage:
Access to case object with Salesforce platform license.
Issues:
None.
Conclusion:
This workaround gives access to case object with partner community login and Salesforce platform licenses
Note :
While the Salesforce License Type is designed for your day-to-day users requiring full access to the entire suite of tools within the system, the Salesforce Platform License Types (formerly known as Force.com) are created for individuals who might need specific access to custom apps developed within your Salesforce instance but do not need full CRM access like other users.
These Salesforce Platform users co-exist with your Salesforce users and can access the same information since they are created on the same database; however, with some strategic planning/user segmentation, differentiating between the two groups can save you a significant amount.
For example, the cost of a Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud Enterprise user license is $1,800/year per license, while the license cost of a Lightning Platform Starter is $300/year per license. Simply identifying which of your users only need a Lightning Platform Starter license instead of a full Salesforce license can save you $1,500/year per license!.
